Congratulations to the Grambling State University men’s and women’s track & field teams! They turned in several top individual performances at the 2024 SWAC Indoor Track & field Championships over the weekend. Ivory Davis won second place in the women’s 60m hurdles with a personal record time of 8.56. Dante Brown notched a personal best in the men’s 60m with a 6.83 to lock up fourth.
Kayla Ford in the women’s 400m, placed eighth after clocking in with a personal record time of 58.23. Dior Nicholson secured second place in the women’s shot put with a throw of 13.80m. Jamie Richardson and Pearl Moss were solid in the women’s high jump, both grabbing podium spots. Richardson’s jump of 1.71 meters landed her in second place, while Moss leaped to a personal record 1.67m.
Marissa Tell placed seventh with a distance of 11.85m which was also a personal record for her. In the team standings, the Grambling State women’s team finished sixth with 53 points. In the men’s standings, GSU nabbed ninth place with 27.5 points.
