Daryl Triplett, a Louisiana-based artist, holds a B.S. in Art Education from Grambling State University, along with a Master's Degree in Art and Humanities. He has accumulated over 30 graduate hours in supervision and administration from the University of Louisiana in Monroe. Retired in 2019 with 33 years as a Talented Arts teacher in Monroe City School systems, he's also been an adjunct instructor at Louisiana Delta Community College since 2008. A former New Orleans football star, played at Highland Community College in Kansas and was the country's 3rd top offensive player in 1980. He later spent two years under the legendary Coach Eddie Robinson at Grambling State University. Today, he expresses his New Orleans roots through art, drawing inspiration from the city's vibrant scenes, including the bold Mardi Gras colors and the soulful notes of gospel and jazz. His art, akin to a flavorful "Pot of Gumbo," has been shaped by these influences. A recent Hawaii trip unveiled a fresh spectrum of colors, prompting his art to evolve into a realm only nature can provide. A well-traveled artist, Triplett has explored Switzerland, Paris, London, Rome, Venice, and Florence. His art has been showcased across the country, including Maryland, Atlanta, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and the renowned Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. He's crafted pieces for athletes, coaches, and more, even designing program covers for events like the Bayou Classic football game and capturing the spirit of the 2003 Louisiana State University's National Football Championship team. Notably, he's famed for his masterpiece: the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl painting. In recent years, Triplett hosted various public and private exhibits. He attributes his expanded artistic reach to Dr. Leon Tarver, former president of Southern University. In February 2016, Triplett and Don Cincone held a successful exhibit and arts symposium in Washington D.C., which might become an annual event. He also organized an art symposium and exhibit at Century Link.
